I'm a backend PHP developer with over a decade of commercial experience, and I'm happiest where the application meets the server. I taught myself PHP and MySQL at college, went straight into a junior role in 2013, and have since worked with CodeIgniter, Symfony and, for most of the last few years, Laravel. Along the way I've been Lead Blockchain Developer at Electroneum and co-founded XHOST UK, a web and hosting company serving small businesses. Most recently I was Senior PHP Developer at HREF Agency, where I looked after most of the backend development and all of the server and hosting work. I'm comfortable with AWS, Ubuntu Linux and both cloud and physical dedicated servers, and I enjoy untangling tricky problems and building integrations that just work. In 2026 I took a detour and trained as a coach driver, which I'd still love to finish one day. For now I'm back doing what I know best and looking for my next backend PHP, DevOps or hosting role in Kent or remote across the UK.
